Support Engineer

Ben Lawson

Ben graduated from Cardiff University in 2009 with a BSc in Geology before beginning his career offshore in the North Sea, where he worked as a Logging Geologist and Data Engineer between 2011 and 2017. He joined International Gas Detectors in 2017, initially working part-time as a Service Coordinator before moving into a full-time shopfloor role building gas detection equipment. After training as a Service Engineer, Ben worked extensively on customer sites carrying out calibration, maintenance, commissioning and client training across a wide range of gas detection systems. Today, Ben works as a Support Engineer at IGD, providing technical support and customer training while also supporting the company’s development team through sensor testing, product testing and black box software testing.
